Ryan Brems, CPFA Leaves Merrill Lynch to Launch Brems Wealth Management of Equitable Advisors

TAMPA, FL — Winthrop & Co. is pleased to announce the formation of Brems Wealth Management, led by Ryan Brems, CPFA, in affiliation with Equitable Advisors. With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Ryan made the move from Merrill Lynch to build an independent practice designed to better serve the evolving needs of his clients.

"I've always believed in building meaningful relationships, not just managing portfolios," Ryan shared. "This move allows me to structure my practice around what truly matters—personalized advice, flexibility for my clients, and the freedom to grow."

Brems Wealth Management focuses on comprehensive planning strategies for individuals, families, and closely held businesses. From education funding and asset allocation to tax minimization and retirement income strategies, Ryan's planning-first approach is rooted in deep listening and intentional collaboration with clients' legal and accounting teams.

Ryan began his financial career in 1997, holding previous roles with Northwestern Mutual and Merrill Lynch. His long-standing commitment to his clients and community is evident—having served on numerous boards and committees and frequently volunteering his time.

He and his wife, Carla, now reside in Florida where they enjoy life with their four children and two grandchildren. Outside of work, Ryan can be found golfing, fishing, cycling, playing pickleball, and soaking up the Florida sun on the beach.

With the launch of Brems Wealth Management, Ryan is turning the page to a more intentional, independent chapter—focused on helping clients pursue their goals while enjoying the journey along the way.
